Kathryn Ellis

I first came across Thai yoga massage in 2004 when I watched a demonstration at the end of my yoga class. I was completely captivated by the graceful, dance-like quality of both giver and receiver, the way each movement flowed into another. This wasn’t massage as I had ever witnessed before and I longed to be on the receiving end of it.

I signed up for a massage straightaway and very quickly decided that I wanted to learn how to introduce others to its amazing benefits.

I went on to train initially with Alexandra Schunemann, and then to study to practitioner level with Niclaire Skye at the British School of Thai Yoga Massage. I have subsequently studied to advanced practitioner level with teachers here in the UK and in Thailand.

I am now a Registered Thai Therapist (RTT), belonging to THAI - an international body “that acknowledges, approves and endorses serious students, practitioners and teachers of traditional Thai therapy and Thai healing arts throughout the world” (see www.thaihealingalliance.com).

I then went on to study sports and remedial massage in Oxford with Pulse Training Systems, one of only five accredited schools in the UK that teach the prestigious BTEC professional diploma course. This qualification has become the benchmark for quality training, which includes advanced remedial massage techniques and assessment skills, and an advanced working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Along the way I have added to my skills as a massage therapist, studying Thai Foot Massage, Thai Herbal Compress Massage and Hot Stones Massage.

I offer treatments in a newly refurbished studio dedicated to Thai yoga massage. Located in central Leamington Spa with easy, on-street, free parking, it is just 10 minutes walk from the town centre and from the railway station.
